Elvis Andrus, White Sox win after Johan Heim’s tag out is reversed

The Chicago White Sox rallied to beat the Texas Rangers 7-6 on Tuesday night, with a huge hand from the replay authorities.

Elvis Andrus had actually knocked in 2 runs with a two-hit single in the bottom of the 8th inning to connect the video game 6-6 and took 2nd when the Rangers tossed house. On the next at-bat, he raced house and moved on a Zach Remillard single. Andrus was dismissed as he was tagged by Rangers catcher Jonah Heim prior to touching the plate.

The play was challenged, evaluated and reversed, providing Chicago a 7-6 lead, with a judgment that Heim had “hampered the runner’s course to home base.”
