Sima’s imposing header put them 3-1 up before Ciuentes’ yellow card for a hazardous obstacle on Bakayoko was updated to a red following a VAR check.
The outcome narrows Rangers’ space to Celtic, who play Kilmarnock on Sunday survive on Sky, to 5 points while Dundee stay seventh.
