China will prohibit the export of gallium and germanium, 2 elements for chips and radars, in a quote to react to the U.S.’s curb on materials of modern elements to China, the Ministry of Commerce stated in a declaration launched Monday.
The ministry will enforce export controls on gallium and germanium-related products in order to secure nationwide security and interests, the declaration stated.
Exporters will make an application for an export license to the Ministry of Commerce and report the agreement and energy prior to shipping the associated product, it stated.
The export control worked on Aug. 1.
