Numerous customers with insurance coverage are required to pay hundreds and even countless dollars a year on mental-health care regardless of a 15-year-old law that is expected to make such treatment as budget-friendly and available as any other kind of treatment.
Now the Biden administration wishes to enforce brand-new requirements on insurance companies that it states would minimize out-of-pocket expenses for mental-health care and substance-use-disorder treatment. The insurance coverage market is shooting back, arguing the proposition would increase costs and set impossible-to-meet requirements.
