With Florida limiting how Black history can be taught in public schools, some churches are actioning in with their own lessons. Here’s WMFE’s Danielle Prieur.
DANIELLE PRIEUR, BYLINE: It’s 7 o’clock on a Wednesday night, and Pastor Sharon Riley of Agape Perfecting Appreciation and Praise Center in Orlando would typically be preparing to lead Bible research study. Today, she’s getting her church prepared for their first-ever African American History master class.
SHARON RILEY: So if you will take a minute and simply bow your heads with me. Dad, we simply thank you for your grace. It is still so incredible.
